Description
Give your caravan a fresh look without replacing the entire awning. This genuine Awnlux replacement vinyl kit is a cost-effective way to restore your awning — and everything you need is included.
About Awnlux Vinyl
Awnlux is an established, recognised brand in the Australian caravan market. There are cheaper awning skins available — but not all vinyl is created equal. Inferior vinyl may look similar in a photo but won’t withstand the harsh Australian sun over time. Awnlux kits use heavy-duty, multi-layer, UV-resistant vinyl made specifically for Australian conditions. We use and install these kits ourselves in our mobile service business — we wouldn’t sell something we wouldn’t fit to our own customers’ vans.
About This Colour — Black Fade
Our vinyl is black-fade, supplied with the black side facing up (towards the van). When the awning is rolled away, the black appears at the top between the arms. When rolled out, the white side runs along the roll forming the valance. This two-tone effect is a popular and practical choice — the darker upper surface resists heat and UV while the lighter valance reflects glare.
What’s Included:
- Genuine Awnlux heavy-duty UV-resistant replacement vinyl skin (black fade)
- Spline for top and bottom tracks
- Installation strap
- Instruction booklet
Compatible With: Fits most standard Australian caravan awning rail systems including Dometic, Carefree, Camec, Aussie Traveller, Global and Solera.
Please Note — Projection Our Awnlux kits typically project approximately 50mm more than OEM vinyl (such as Carefree and Dometic), particularly if your existing vinyl has shrunk over time (which is normal). This is worth considering if you have a full annex — in some cases the annex walls may not quite reach the new roof line. Extension strips are available as a solution. It may also affect anti-flap kit fitment if your existing kit is already at maximum extension.
How to Measure — Important Measure your awning arm to arm in feet. Do not measure the barrel, and do not measure the existing vinyl — vinyl shrinks over time and will give an inaccurate reading. Almost all awnings are made in one-foot increments. If measuring in millimetres, divide by 304.5 to convert to feet. Note: the vinyl itself is manufactured approximately 20cm narrower than the stated awning size — this is correct and intentional.
